Here are more upcoming Spring events I’m involved with:

Steve Dawson @ Simon’s Tavern- Sunday April 3rd 8:30pm (free) It’s Steve’s birthday and he will be joined by Alton Smith (keys) John Abbey (bass) Tommi Zender (drums) Diane Christiansen (vocals) along with other special guests.  2 sets of Steve’s songs & select cover tunes.  An annual event that’s not to be missed!

Tz solo @ Hyatt – Thursday April 14th 9-11pm (located on St Clair/Erie, east of Michigan Ave) in Level Two Lounge (free)

Spring Beatles Social @ Old Town School of Folk Music – Friday April 15th 7:30-9pm $15 Play/sing the music of the Fab Four lead by Tz (and often, special guests) & take home a packet of song charts. Like having a campfire sing-a-long in a large living room. Advance sign up is encouraged @ oldtownschool.org, in person at any OTS location or via phone @ 773-728-6000

Record Store Day Performance: Music of Aimee Mann & Michael Penn Sat 4/16 2pm Laurie’s Planet of Sound in Lincoln Square. Featuring Dina DiConstanzo (vocal) Dave Sills (bass/vocal/guitar) Matt Kerste (keys) and Jim Barclay (drums, percussion).

Tz Wishbone Residency with featured guest Tom Ryan – Thursday April 21st 7-9pm (free) Wishbone North has great food, drink, and a separate performance alcove. Each month on the Third Thursday Tommi hosts with a different musical guest.  This month it’s Tom Ryan.  Expect some of Tom’s songs, some of Tommi’s and cover songs… many of which will be collaborative!  Join us.

International Pop Overthrow Festival – Friday April 22nd, 9:30 PM @ Redline Tap in Rogers Park.  David Bash’s long-running pop-rock fest returns.  Tommi will play a band set at 9:30, and also join Phil Angotti at 10:15.  Other acts include Rich Miller, Too Much Saturn, Trolley (from Milwaukee, featuring Terry Hackbarth).

Hyatt – Saturday April 23rd, 9-11pm (same info as above)

Tz featured performer at Open Mic on Little Fort – Thursday April 28th 7:30pm (sign up at 7PM) Hosted by Rebekah Abel.  4128 N. Lincoln Ave.  Students and any performers are encouraged to check this out.  Supportive environment, and if you show up I just might join you for a song (on guitar or small percussion, interpretive dance).

NEW SESSION OF OLD TOWN SCHOOL CLASSES STARTS LAST WEEK OF APRIL!!!                  Tz is teaching: Beatles Acoustic Ensemble, Folk-Rock Ensemble, Art Rock Ensemble, Sunday Guitar Forever Ensemble, and… Guitar 1 (if you ever wanted to learn, sign up) Visit oldtownschool.org for more info.  Take a class–many great teachers/classes at OTS.

Razorhouse @ Schuba’s – Thursday May 12, 9pm Mark Panick, Jim DeMonte, Dave Suycott, and Tommi Zender playing full electric original diverse art rock music (by Mark Panick). Wanna hear Tz play electric guitar with crazy effects?  Come and check this band out!

Fretboard Geography Workshop – Sunday May 22nd @ 2pm, Old Town School.
